After the release of smart watches products with Android operating system in September 2013 ago, Samsung reportedly is preparing a smart wristwatch with Tizen operating system.
Reuters news agency reports, Samsung will introduce two smart watches in the event Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, the end of February. Both products will be named Galaxy Gear 2 and Neo 2, in which one of them will continue to use Android.
Both products are experiencing increasing number of features, among others, could be a television remote control, a feature that monitors the pulse of fitness, and music player functions. However, Reuters reported, watches Neo 2 series is not equipped with a camera components.
Samsung to develop Tizen so as not to completely rely on Google's Android operating system. This operating system is a large project with Intel and Samsung Linux Foundation since mid-2012.
Tizen is a mobile operating system project is open (open source) that is built on the core program (kernel) Linux.
Support major technology companies to Tizen shows great potential to compete with Tizen mobile operating system that exists today, especially Android are also built with the Linux kernel. Today, Tizen has reached the development stage version 2.2.1.
Companies that are known to support Tizen include eBay, Konami, McAfee, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Huawei, The Weather Channel, and some of the industry mobile operators, namely NTT DoCoMo, Orange, Vodafone, Sprint, as well as two South Korean operator, SK Telecom and KT.
