Blackphone can be used to make phone calls, send or receive messages, surf the Internet, transfer or save a document, to make video calls are secured.
In terms of operating system, Android Blackphone using a modified in order to prioritize security, and named PrivatOS. As for the network, Blackphone unlocked and can work with all GSM operators.
Blackphone equipped with a data encryption protocol PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) Phil Zimmermann created. He was also involved in this project.

As information, the Silent Circle is a company focused on encryption, while Geeksphone known as a pioneering company that makes phones based on Android OS and Firefox.
